In response to the Earthquakes that devastated Kahramanmaras, Turkey area VAWD sent a team to use its Sense Through the Wall device to search for living humans trapped beneath the rubble piles. VAWD was able to assist the overrall effort by detecting life signals in sites throughout the city which sped up the process of search and rescue teams in extracting people already buried several days and with precious little time left.

June 17, 2021 // Sacramento

After a year unable to travel due to Covid safety measures, VAWD hit the road and attended a Sacramento County event to introduce and show off its capability to sense through buildings and detect people inside.  VAWD demonstrated its STORMS radar and detected a person walking behind a loading dock wall from 36 meters away.

VAWD demonstrated it's See Through the Wall radar (STORMS) ability to detect from standoff distances multiple persons walking and standing behind different structure types.  The scenarios included a multiple level building, a house with many rooms, a rubble, pile, a re-inforced building designed for being burnt for firefighter drills, and a large wall.

VAWD participated in this event to embed its STORMS biometric sensing radar technology in an environment that simulates actual field conditions and to receive feedback on their technology from a variety of Air Force personnel. Operational Scenarios include combat rescue, disaster response, airbase defense, global integrated ISR, personnel recovery, command and control, agile combat support, special operations, etc.

VAWD showcased STORMS Handheld devices and Sense Through Obstruction capabilities at an exhibit booth alongside other defense technology vendors at the Defense Energy Innovation Summit & Showcase in Tampa, FL.

VAWD on News Channel 13!  See Through the Wall technology is featured as a new technology for the Army at Fort Huachuca.
